Adult Foster Care (AFC) Program

Did you know you could receive financial support for caring for a loved one at home? At Gifted Hands Homecare, we’re proud to support families across Massachusetts through the Adult Foster Care (AFC) program. This program allows qualified individuals age 16 or older—who require daily hands-on assistance—to receive care in the comfort of home from a trusted family member or friend. Caregivers who live in the same household as the care recipient can receive biweekly, tax-free compensation for providing support with essential personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, mobility, and hygiene.

AFC offers a compassionate, cost-effective alternative to residential facilities, empowering adults to maintain their routines, dignity, and community connections. It's especially beneficial for individuals managing chronic or progressive conditions such as Alzheimer’s, diabetes, or mobility challenges. With guidance from the Gifted Hands Homecare team, caregivers also receive clinical oversight and support, ensuring the highest level of care and peace of mind for the whole family.
